Description :

This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU).

The nurse will care for patients with various cardiac conditions.

Patient diagnoses include congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, acute coronary syndrome, heart valve disease, and hypertensive crises.

The nurse will perform procedures such as cardiac catheterization, echocardiograms, stress tests, and management of cardiac devices.

Skills required include IV initiation and management, central line care, blood product administration, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.

The nurse must be competent in managing both temporary and permanent cardiac pacing.

Patient ratios on the unit typically range from 3-5 patients per nurse.

The position requires every other weekend availability.

Travelers should be comfortable providing care to lower acuity patients until unit transitions are complete.

This position may include floating within the service line based on facility needs.

The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team, including IV and respiratory services.

All candidates must adhere to compliance requirements for the specific position.
