Position Summary :
The Mechanical Engineer II will provide hands-on technical support for the installation, commissioning, and optimization of manufacturing equipment in a solar wafer production facility. This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented engineer with strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills. The role focuses on equipment startup, debugging, and process improvement , not on design engineering.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide hands-on engineering support for equipment installation, startup, debugging, and troubleshooting in a solar wafer manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Facilities, IT, and Operations — to ensure efficient startup and production readiness.
- Assist in equipment setup, data collection, and performance adjustments to meet operational requirements.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify issues and implement solutions that improve equipment reliability and product quality.
- Support problem-solving and root cause analysis for equipment and manufacturing challenges.
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to optimize systems and processes during plant startup.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of standard work documentation (SOPs, SOS, Job Aids, and Training Materials).
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
- Provide continuous feedback to improve engineering processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Support off-shift or weekend work when required to meet project deadlines.
Required Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).Experience : Minimum 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing or process engineering (5+ years preferred).Demonstrated expertise in equipment installation, debugging, startup, and troubleshooting .Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for technical drawings and equipment layout understanding.Strong analytical , problem-solving , and data interpretation skills.Effective organizational and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.Self-starter capable of working independently while driving results in a fast-paced environment.Proven track record of completing engineering projects in a manufacturing environment.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in solar, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing environments.Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).Mandarin language skills are a plus.Work Environment :
