EMS is seeking a talented Microsoft based VB6 Developer with POS experience. The developer is responsible for backend and frontend design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of existing and new features. The candidate needs to gather requirements, code, test, document and implement in a fast paced environment. They must also be able to work closely with team members, developers, and management utilizing written and verbal communication skills as well as be able to function independently with a commitment to learning about our business in the finance and credit card industry.

Essential Functions :

• Apply coding and analytical skills for efficient and accurate functionality
• Assist in the creation of general system design and technical specifications for the POS application and operating system, taking into consideration any limitations and network availability
• Test, debug, support and maintain existing application and support customer reported issues.
• Ability to integrate peripherals including printers, card terminals, measuring devices, etc. to the application via the OS
• Fluent understanding of the IP protocol and various Internet services
• Accountable for the performance, accuracy, and functionality of the POS application
• Communicate effectively with managers to provide progress updates, roadblocks, and offer suggestions & solutions
• Analyze existing code to determine where problems may occur and develop possible solutions
• Preparation of documentation for any proposed or existing application functionality
