The Health AI team at Apple is pioneering advancements in machine learning and health science. We are a collaborative team of research scientists and machine learning engineers dedicated to creating innovative technologies that positively impact millions of users. We seek a senior research lead passionate about addressing real-world health challenges and making a meaningful difference.

Job Description

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in ML and deep learning to design, implement, and evaluate novel machine learning models and algorithms for complex problems involving unique data and objectives. You will have the chance to explore and develop generative AI technologies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to translate cutting-edge research in Health and ML into impactful customer features.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning applied to large-scale datasets
• Strong background in generative models, natural language processing, and large language models
• Proficiency in developing large-scale models using modern ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jax)
• Passion for applying machine learning to enhance end-user health experiences
• Experience leading a team and collaborating across functions to deliver customer-facing features in production
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related fields, or equivalent qualification

Preferred Qualifications

At Apple, base pay is part of a comprehensive compensation package, determined within a range that allows for growth and development. The salary range for this role is $212,000 to $386,300, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
