Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Fiber Optic Technician for 6-8 weeks with a client in Richardson, TX

Job Title : Fiber Optic Technician

Location : Richardson, TX

Duration : 6- 8 weeks

Pay Rate : $28-30 / hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Shifts : 6 AM

Summary :

  • Seeking skilled Low Voltage Technicians to support a high-volume structured cabling project involving the installation of approximately 19,000 pre-terminated fiber optic cables. This is a fast-paced deployment requiring precision, speed, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Install pre-terminated fiber optic cables (no terminations required)
  • Achieve daily output of ~125 cables per technician
  • Follow structured cabling standards and site protocols
  • Collaborate with team leads and peers to meet aggressive timelines
  • Participate in startup and punch list activities
  • Qualifications :

  • Prior experience in low-voltage or structured cabling installations
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
  • Comfortable working in shifts and adapting to schedule changes
  • Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
