Responsibilities
- Responsible for the efficient and economic operation of the Navy Exchange Uniform Center.
- Maintains good customer and employee relations and renders courteous and efficient customer service.
- Incumbent operates independently within the framework of established policies and procedures consulting with superiors concerning problems of a policy nature.
- Advises customers about services available, dress codes, authorized uniform combinations, seasonal wear requirements, and standards for male and female personnel military rank structures, pertinent insignia, use of special insignia, and other furnishings and decorations.
Qualifications
Three years of responsible experience in non-routine work which enabled the applicant to gain a general understanding of the systems methods and administrative machinery for accomplishing work, the ability to analyze problems, apply sound judgment in assessing practical implications of alternative solutions, resolving the problems presented, and the ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.One year of experience which provided background in retail merchandising such as coordination of sales promotions, display of merchandise, control of inventory stock, and records customer relations, exempt or nonexempt supervisory experience, and insuring effective security safety and fire regulations or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge and ability within the retail sales area.General Experience : Three years of responsible experience in nonroutine work which enabled the applicant to gain a general understanding of the systems methods and administrative machinery for accomplishing work, the ability to analyze problems, apply sound judgment in assessing practical implications of alternative solutions and resolving the problems presented and the ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.Substitution of Education for Experience : 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.Specialized Experience : One year of experience which provided background in retail merchandising such as coordination of sales promotions, display of merchandise, control of inventory stock and records customer relations, exempt or nonexempt supervisory experience, and insuring effective security safety and fire regulations or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge and ability within the retail sales area.Benefits
