Job description :
The Occupational Therapist's responsibilities include :
- Assessment and implementation of students' occupational therapy needs
- All record-keeping related to each student assigned to the therapist
- Supervision of COTA staff
- Engage in data-driven instruction
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
Duties :
Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs
Supervise, mentor, and support COTA; train COTAs and classroom staff to implement goals identified on student IEPs related to :
fine motor skillslife skills / trainingpsychosocial adaptationssensory processing / adaptationsvisual motor skillsFollow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventionsSupport the delivery of services in a classroom integration modelCommunicate effectively and proactively with students and familiesResponsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals and Student Digital PortfoliosMaintain timely and accurate Medicaid BillingAccountability for growth and proficiency in IEP goalsParticipate in annual and ongoing staff trainingWrite OT goals and progress monitoring data for students' IEPsAttend IEP / MET meetings for students with OT servicesMinimum Qualifications :
Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model is preferredAbility to approach situations with optimism and perseveranceExcellent verbal, written, and organizational skillsMinimum of two years OT experience in a school setting preferredExperience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferredValid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance cardRequired :
Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance cardBachelor's, Master's Degree or higherCertified OTR in the state of Arizona
