The nurse will be responsible for assisting in high-risk deliveries. They will support patients and families with discharge teaching and comfort measures. Nurses will be proficient in monitoring fetal heart rates and responding to complications. They will perform various procedures, including sterile vaginal exams and C-sections. Assistance with breastfeeding support and lactation guidance will be provided. Nurses are required to maintain patient safety and follow policies and procedures. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of antepartum and postpartum care is essential. Adaptability to float to various units when needed is required. A commitment to patient care and improvement in clinical practices is expected.
