VCA Wingate Animal Hospital is a busy three doctor practice that sees a mix of small animal and exotic patients. Location : Englewood, Colorado Schedule : Full-time preferred | Part-time opportunities may be available Pay Range for this position : $16.00-20.00 / hr based on experience

About the Role

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll be an essential part of our care team, supporting veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality medical services. You'll play a hands-on role in both patient care and client communication, always with a focus on compassion and excellence.

• Client Service : This will be a cross trained position, meaning you will be capable of working at the front desk as well as in exam rooms
• Exam Rooms : You will obtain a TPR and history to present to the veterinarian, then assist the veterinarian in the exam room to provide any necessary treatments
• Patient Handling : Not only will you provide restraint for the veterinarians during an exam, but you will also assist the technicians with sample collection, diagnostic testing and treatments
• Record Keeping : Accurately maintain all patient records
• Housekeeping : Work with the team to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the hospital
• Pharmacy : Know the different medications, how to fill and go over directions with clients
• Radiology : Assist the technicians in obtaining diagnostic radiographs
• Laboratory : Know how to obtain and submit samples
• Patient Monitoring : During surgery and in post-op recovery
