The Travel Nurse RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized care for patients with various medical conditions, working 12-hour shifts and collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, along with two years of unit experience. Flexibility is essential as the nurse may need to float to MedSurg or ICU as needed, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Job Details

  • A large system in Nebraska / Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's.
  • 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.
  • 2 years of unit experience.

    • Job Requirements

  • 2 years of unit experience.
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.

    • Schedule Information

  • 12 hour shifts : 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
  • Weekend Requirements : Every third.
  • Holiday Requirements : Rotating with perm staff.
  • Floating Requirements : Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Scrub Color / Dress code : Navy Blue.
  • 1 week of unit / department specific orientation.

    • Additional Details

  • WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE / SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED.
  • Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults, Cardiac med / surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure.
  • RNs required to titrate drips : Yes.
  • Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin.
  • Charge Nurse on each shift : Yes, does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes.
  • Nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit : Yes, 1 : 12 ratio.
