Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience primarily in the design of HVAC as well as plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, educational, and industrial facilities. This role will support expanding project needs and requires strong technical design capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop HVAC system designs for a wide range of building types, including commercial, industrial, and educational environments.

Produce hydronic piping layouts for chilled water, hot water, and related mechanical systems.

Perform ductwork design, equipment sizing, and load calculations to support project requirements.

Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure seamless coordination across disciplines.

Prepare construction documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, design calculations, and equipment details.

Incorporate applicable HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection principles into system designs.

Support projects from initial concept through final documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with codes and standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.

Proven ability to manage mechanical design tasks from start to finish with minimal oversight.

Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple assignments.

Proficient in mechanical design tools and calculation software; AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting project deadlines and expectations.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background required.

5+ years of mechanical system design experience in HVAC, plumbing, and / or fire protection.

Certifications / Licenses

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Occasional site visits may require exposure to outdoor conditions.

Frequent computer-based work is required.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on occasion.
