Your Role

As a Proposal / Technical Writer, you will partner with pursuit and project teams to produce winning proposals, SOQs, and technical narratives for major transportation and infrastructure projects. You’ll be responsible for developing, editing, and refining compelling content that highlights project experience, construction expertise, and innovative solutions in pursuit of heavy civil contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with pursuit teams to develop tailored, client-focused proposals for DOT, municipal, and large-scale public works projects.

Edit and refine technical narratives provided by engineers, estimators, and project managers to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with RFP / RFQ requirements.

Translate complex construction methods into clear, compelling, and persuasive language.

Integrate visuals, charts, and graphics to strengthen proposal messaging.

Manage deadlines and coordinate inputs across multiple departments to deliver polished, on-time submissions.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional proposal or technical writing experience, with direct experience in heavy highway / heavy civil construction strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field; equivalent professional writing experience considered.

Deep understanding of public procurement processes (DOT, municipal, and alternative delivery methods).

Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and leadership teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign preferred).
