Installer Helper
The Installer Helper for Residential Garage Doors functions as a key member of our team, responsible for assisting in the installation of residential garage doors and associated components. This role involves frequent interaction with our valued customers, ensuring their satisfaction through exceptional customer service. Assigned tasks are received from the call center. In the event of any inquiries, concerns, or challenges, these will be escalated to the Branch Manager for further guidance and resolution. As the initial point of contact for our customers, the Installer Helper holds a pivotal role and is expected to present themselves with a professional appearance while treating all customers with utmost respect and courtesy.
Responsibilities
- bHelp in the installation process of new garage doors in accordance with guidelines.
- bRemove and responsibly dispose of existing garage doors.
- bActively participate in mandatory safety meetings and training sessions.
- bAcquire foundational knowledge in tasks such as track alignment, track adjustment, proper back hangs, operator arm usage, setting photo eyes, and conducting various door and operator repairs.
- bDevelop basic skills in door and operator maintenance and staying informed about new products when relevant.
- bMaintain a satisfactory level of product knowledge of the offerings.
- bEnsure that installations meet the customer's contentment and effectively address any concerns or issues.
- bThoroughly review Work Order / Invoice details for accuracy and completeness prior to leaving the job site.
- bActively promote Precision Door Service products and services whenever possible.
- bAssure the service truck is adequately fueled, serviced, and ready for operation at the start of each workday.
- bRegularly replenish the truck with appropriate materials on a daily basis.
- bAssist with the unloading of trucks when required.
- bAccurately keep track of time worked for compensation purposes.
- bA valid driver's license is a must.
- bPrevious installation experience is not necessary
- bAbility to successfully pass a standard drug test if requested.
- bProficient mechanical aptitude and proven skill in operating common power tools.
- bCapability to lift up to 100 pounds and carry items for distances of up to 50 feet.
- bCompetence in reading and writing legibly and accurately.
- bProficiency in walking and carrying objects across uneven surfaces.
- bAbility to ascend and work from a 12' step ladder safely.
- bSkill in driving a service truck or van safely in varying conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Working Conditions
