Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director Med Surg has the direct-line responsibility for day-to-day operations and overall responsibility for the nursing department, ensuring that employees have effective management, good communication and appropriate discipline. The Director ensures that the charge nurses fulfill their responsibilities as front-line supervisors and is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the coordination of patient care, administrative and nursing activities, as well as being responsible on a 24-hour basis for the quality of nursing care provided to patients. The Director is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all nursing care and related activities.
