Position Summary
Penske Logistics is looking for Material Control Analysts to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are self‑motivated, with strong analytical and computer skills, customer‑centric, and safety conscious. This position coordinates all processes and functions of a department and provides visibility to management by tracking, process oversight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
Shift
We have two different shifts we are looking to fill :
- Monday thru Friday 7 : 00 pm – 3 : 00 am
- Friday thru Saturday 6 : 00 am – 4 : 00 pm & Sunday thru Monday 6 : 00 pm – 4 : 00 am
Shift flexibility is required to meet customer demand.
Major Responsibilities
Use computer to enter records and generate reportsWeigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards (as applicable)Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignmentsComplete daily logsProactively seek opportunities to improve customer’s inventory and material flow processesWork with customer to resolve stock shortagesIdentify cost savings opportunities for the customerTrack shipments to ensure shipment deadlines are metWork with suppliers to correct part / shipment issuesFollow daily parts control function, including track and trace, production schedule analysis, and exception managementFollow processes set by engineering and assist with the implementation of any process and transportation design changesProvide parts follow‑up ensuring optimal material flowHandle recurring analysis and tasks driving continuous cost savings initiativesExamine current processes and implement or recommend improvements to drive out wasteMeet customer deadlines and develop metrics dashboards that highlight customer‑specific analyticsUse discretion and independent judgment to answer customer requests and propose solutionsDevelop and assist with presenting customer analytics, key trends and solution proposals during customer QBRsOther projects and tasks as assigned by supervisorQualifications
1–3 years inventory / auditing / transportation experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredSome college, preferredFundamental understanding of transportation, supply chain and logistics conceptsStrong problem‑solving and time‑management skills requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and multi‑taskAbility to follow process and standard proceduresExperience analyzing large sets of dataAdvanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook requiredMust be able to learn and operate multiple company and customer‑owned WMS platformsRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the jobWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education and criminal history) and drug screening are requiredPhysical Requirements
