JOB DESCRIPTION
Position
Project Engineer - Mechanical Design
Team / Division
Design mechanical layouts for electrical panels, including mounting arrangements, enclosure sizing and thermal management.
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D cad models.
Create GA drawings for various panel and enclosures
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., AS / NSZ, IEC, NEMA, NFPA etc).
Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize space and ensure proper component placement and wiring paths.
Select appropriate materials and hardware for enclosures, mounting, and environmental protection (IP / NEMA ratings).
Design airflow planning to prevent overheating and ensure long-term reliability.
Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs), mechanical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
Skid based electrical system concept design and detailing, working with FEA team to conduct various lifting case analysis for structural stability study
Provide support to production and fabrication teams during prototype builds and manufacturing.
Participate in design reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical design related to electrical panels or enclosures.
Education
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
