The CNC Programmer at Sim Surgical is a vital team member responsible for advanced CNC programming and machining operations.
This role includes the ability to create NC files from scratch in Esprit, modify solid models, lead and delegate tasks to Programmer I employees, and collaborate closely with the machine scheduler.
Additionally, the CNC Programmer II is expected to think creatively and efficiently to tackle challenging projects and ensure the availability of required tooling and materials.
Clear communication with engineering and operations, as well as attention to detail in production, is crucial in this role.
Responsibilities :
- Create NC files from scratch using Esprit software for complex machining operations.
- Proficiently manipulate and modify solid models to optimize machining processes.
- Efficiently delegate tasks to Programmer I employees and provide guidance.
- Develop innovative and efficient approaches to machining challenging projects.
- Anticipate future tooling and material requirements to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Accurately identify tooling and minimize deflection or excessive wear for specific features.
- Demonstrate functional capabilities in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
- Identify appropriate surface footage and depth of cut for stainless steel and titanium materials.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with engineering and operations regarding work orders, blueprints, or model issues.
- Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure precise production.
Initiate purchase orders for tooling, holders, or replacement parts to maintain machine efficiency. Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or CNC programming certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming and machining experience, including advanced software like Esprit.Proven ability to manipulate and modify solid models for process optimization.Strong leadership skills and experience in delegating tasks to junior programmers.Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the machine scheduler and engineering teams.Demonstrated capacity to think creatively and efficiently for challenging machining projects.Knowledge of tooling, materials, and the ability to anticipate future needs.Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.Expertise in identifying proper surface footage and depth of cut for stainless steel and titanium.Attention to detail and ability to review and understand engineering documentation.Experience in placing purchase orders for tooling, holders, or replacement parts.
