Our Air / Ground International Voice Service is the aeronautical industrys air / ground voice communications link for FAA control and communications for aircraft in the oceanic airspace. The service is backed by over 75 years of Collins Aerospace CAS experience of providing communications solutions to the aviation market.

Collins Aerospace is looking for you to join our team in Bohemia NY as a Radio Field Service Technician to support our Commercial Aviation and Network Services this role you will have the opportunity to work in an environment where customer service is held in the highest regard.

What You Will Do

• You will install maintain test adjust and repair communication equipment such as radio and antenna systems.
• You will utilize test equipment as required to perform proper installation or repair.
• You will interact with customers vendors and contractors independently and professionally in support of maintenance and installation activities.
• You will provide on-the-job training. You will be required to provide 24 / 7 support so you will be on-call after hours on weekends and holidays. Travel will be required up to 50%
• YOU will obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL) within 6 months of being hired
• You will need to obtain and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) badging for access to certain Federal regulated areas of the airport; this includes Security Threat Assessment (STA) and a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and SIDA training
• You will lift and carry fifty (50) pounds and climb towers and stepped poles up to fifty (50) feet in height.
• You will assist in Facilities and EH&S tasks
