As a Registered Nurse (RN), you'll play a critical role in caring for patients with mental health challenges, while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. We are looking for compassionate, skilled professionals who can deliver clinical expertise, emotional support, and collaborative care to our patients and their families.
Location : Jena, Louisiana
Schedule : AM & PM shifts – 7a-7p
Duration : PRN
Unit : BHU
Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Care : Provide direct nursing care for individuals with a variety of behavioral health issues, including assessments, treatment planning, and execution of interventions.
- Crisis Management : Respond to behavioral and psychological crises with professionalism, applying de-escalation techniques and safely managing patient behaviors in a high-stress environment.
- Collaboration : Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitoring : Assess patients’ mental, emotional, and physical status, monitoring vital signs, medication adherence, and responses to treatment.
- Education & Support : Provide patients and their families with education about mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records of patient care, observations, and treatment plans in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Safety & Compliance : Ensure patient safety through adherence to all hospital protocols, maintaining a secure environment for both patients and staff.
Qualifications :
Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Louisiana or Compact LicenseCertifications : CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or SAMA (System for Managing Aggressive Behavior) certification required. (Certification must be maintained throughout employment.)Experience : Previous experience in behavioral health nursing or related clinical setting preferred.Skills : Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Ability to de-escalate high-stress situations calmly and safely.Physical Demands : Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and manage patients exhibiting aggressive behaviors.Why Join Us :
