Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to work in a combined ER and Med Surg unit requiring a SD or compact RN license and 2 years of recent nursing experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Critical Access Hospital setting with a combined ER and Med Surg unitPatient population includes both emergency cases and medical-surgical inpatientsNurse to patient ratio for Med Surg is typically 3-4 : 1 depending on census and acuityUnit capacity is 25 bedsUse of Epic EMR, Sanford One Charge, and Pixis medication systemSchedule consists of 12-hour rotating day / night shifts, totaling 36 hours per weekRequired to work every other weekend and assigned holidaysThree call shifts required over a 13 week contractFloating between ER and Med Surg units is requiredResponsibilities include both emergency and Med Surg nursing dutiesA single day orientation for Epic charting, ER training, and Med Surg training is providedNavy scrubs without logos required; white may be worn under uniform or as a lab coatMust badge in and out when at the facilityAll candidates with previous employment at the health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to considerationCandidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and will receive bill rate adjustmentsRequirements
Active SD or compact RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years recent RN experienceAt least 6 months of Med Surg and 6 months of ER experience in the past yearCertifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP (may be obtained onsite with approval)TNCC certification preferredAbility to function independently in the ER and manage up to 5 patients on Med SurgEpic charting experience preferredBenefits
