Medical Assistant (CCMA) -Full Time

Schedule : Hours vary Mon.-Fri. from 7 : 00 a.m. to 7 : 00 p.m.

JOB SUMMARY :

Assists the physician, along with other members of the team, in providing medical care to patients of the Orthopaeadic and / or Pain clinic. Assists with the maintenance of patients' electronic medical records. Provides exceptional customer service to the patient, patient's family and colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION :

Education :

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited business school or college with focus in medical assisting preferred.

Qualifications :

Level II :

A minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Assistant required with two years in an orthopaedic musculoskeletal group / facility preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

No direct reports.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, in order to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors, and the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Moderate physical effort when working in patient care environment consisting of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and stooping. Moderate sitting and keyboarding along with fine and gross motor skills and manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other equipment. Occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to an emergency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
