Our client is seeking an Associate Principal to join their Los Angeles headquarters. This senior leadership role involves managing large, complex structural projects while contributing to business development, team leadership, and client engagement.
As an Associate Principal, you'll play a key role in the firms' strategic growth, helping to win new business, deepen client relationships, and mentor the next generation of structural engineering leaders.

Responsibilities :
- Mentor and develop future leaders within the firm.
- Contribute to business development and help expand the firms project portfolio.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership in complex structural systems, especially Type I construction.
- Lead and manage large-scale structural engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Oversee project teams (engineers, BIM designers) and ensure successful execution of designs.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications :
SE License (required)12+ years of building design experience.Master's degree in Structural Engineering from a U.S. university.Technical Expertise :
Decisive leadership and mentoring capabilities.Familiarity with DSA and HCAI / OSHPD processes.Strong leadership of engineering and BIM teams.Strong business acumen and ability to secure new clients.Seismic evaluation and retrofit design experience (ASCE 41 a plus)Recognized industry leader with established client relationships.Deep experience with Type I construction (steel and concrete structures)Proven ability to design and detail large, complex structural systems across multiple sectors.Preferred :
Specialized expertise in a technical area or market sector.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Experience with high-rise, commercial, aviation, healthcare, or institutional projects.Benefits & Perks :
