Kaman is looking for an ambitious A&P Technician to support the K-Max Helicopter program. Working under general direction with minimum supervision, a successful candidate in this role will provide aircraft support, repair station support, and sometimes support at customer sites. Candidate will get training on both the K-Max and HH43-B helicopters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance operational readiness.
- Liaison with all levels of company personnel (mechanics, pilots, engineers, technical manual writers, etc.) and customer personnel to facilitate problem identification and resolution.
- Review publications for technical accuracy and make recommendations as needed.
- Diagnose technical problems and recommend corrective action. Analyze reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service and maintenance, and processes. Recommend modifications to eliminate and / or minimize future problems as needed.
- Advise and assist in design changes to improve product efficiency and / or reduce cost of operation.
- Must become proficient in company's Part 145 Repair Station and subsequent responsibilities while working under the Repair Station Manual, including Return to Service authority while traveling to customer's sites.
- Maintain K-Max and HH43-B aircraft for supporting both Pilot and Maintenance Training courses and any other company requirements of the aircraft.
- Maintain aircraft records, data and other pertinent information.
- Remain current in modern aircraft practices to ensure continuous improvement.
- Possibility of travel to customer sites, both domestic and international, as required to assist with obscure repairs or troubleshooting.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.High level of discretion; position involves routine exposure to customers and proprietary information.Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with the ability to prepare and submit presentations and reports as required.Experienced in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of aircraft systems.EXPERIENCE
3 years aviation maintenance experience1-2 years of helicopter experience. (Preferred)Working knowledge of federal aviation regulations (FAR's)EDUCATION
High school graduate or GEDAdditional broad specialized training equivalent to at least two years college.CERTIFICATIONS
