American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a MO or compact RN license and L&D expertise.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a combined Labor & Delivery and postpartum unit within a hospital settingHandles antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and post-operative GYN patientsNurse-to-patient ratios typically 1 : 1 in L&D, may vary to 1 : 2 or 1 : 3 depending on patient acuityUnit has 11 labor rooms, 5 triage rooms, 15 postpartum rooms, and 2 flex roomsAverage daily census is 7-10 patientsShifts are 12 hours, days 6 : 45-19 : 15, with required weekend and on-call coverageFloating required within scope, including to postpartum unit for couplet careUses PeriWatch application and Philips Avalon fetal monitorsEMR training on Epic provided with options for test-out or module completionResponsibilities include full scope L&D and postpartum nursing care, assisting with deliveries (vaginal, C-section, VBAC), monitoring high-risk pregnancies, and postpartum careMust be comfortable working with various obstetric complications and administering medications and infusions commonly used in L&DOn-call required (2 shifts per 6-week period) and 4-5 weekend shifts per 6 weeks, including specific Friday and Sunday shift requirementsPatient assignments based on AWHONN staffing standards and patient acuityPre-start training includes Epic EMR, infusion pump, and glucometer modulesA maximum of 7 days RTO permittedNo first-time travelers or travel partners accepted for this positionComprehensive compliance modules and drug screening must be completed as scheduledFacility may offer without interview but can accommodate interviews if preferred\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of considerationMinimum 3 years recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience requiredCertifications required : BLS, FHM, NRPLDRP experience preferred, but candidates with L&D / LDR experience consideredExperience with antepartum, low and high risk L&D, neonatal resuscitation, C-section, external and internal fetal monitoring, and postpartum care requiredMust be able to float to postpartum for couplet or postpartum-only careRecent specialty experience : at least 1 year within the last 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past yearPending license accepted if issued before start dateCandidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; locals not acceptedTwo professional references from past year required, with at least one from a supervisor\n Benefits\n
