Overview of Role

We are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join our team and support the growth of our education financing portfolio. This role is primarily execution-oriented, focused on research, analysis, and monitoring of credit performance. The Senior Credit Analyst will play a key role in maintaining strong risk management practices and identifying opportunities for policy and profitability improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze credit KPIs across Climb's lending portfolio
  • Research and diagnose credit risk issues, including school-level performance
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and tools to track credit risk and portfolio health
  • Support analysis of credit policy and pricing changes, quantifying their impact on risk and profitability
  • Evaluate collections and servicing strategies to improve portfolio outcomes
  • Provide analytical insights to support senior team members and cross-functional partners

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Economics, Math, Engineering, or similar)
  • 2-4 years of relevant Credit experience is strongly preferred; relevant experience in financial services, consulting, fintech, or banking may be considered
  • Strong technical skills : SQL and Excel modeling required; familiarity with Python, R, or Power BI is a plus
  • Highly curious and eager to dig into data to uncover insights
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability and comfort working with complex, ambiguous data sets
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to assess tradeoffs, identify root causes, and propose solutions
  • Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate findings clearly
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
