- Maintain lower patient volumes to allow for more meaningful patient-provider relationships.\n\nJob Summary\nThe\nInfectious Disease RN provides specialized nursing care to patients with infectious and communicable diseases. This role focuses on\ninfection assessment, treatment coordination, and patient education, while ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols.\nThe RN collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to manage infections, monitor patient progress, and promote prevention through evidence-based practices.\nSupervision\n

- Supervisory Responsibilities : None\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nInfectious Disease\n
- Collaborate directly with the Infectious Disease physician to manage specialty patient care.\n
- Coordinate lab results, imaging, treatment authorizations, and referrals.\n
- Monitor patient progress and assist in managing patients on long-term antibiotic therapy or complex treatment regimens.\n
- Schedule and coordinate infusions or other treatments as needed.\n
- Serve as a patient liaison for specialty pharmacy or infusion services.\n
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, infection prevention, medication adherence, and follow-up care.\n
- Identify care gaps and coordinate services to improve health outcomes.\n\nGeneral Responsibilities\n
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).\n
- Ensure full HIPAA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality.\n
- Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings and contribute to care planning.\n
- Support quality improvement and care coordination initiatives.\n
- Perform other duties as assigned.\n\nEducation, Certifications, and Licenses\n
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wyoming, in good standing.\n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.\n
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.\n\nExperience\n
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical RN experience required.\n
- Experience in infectious disease, infusion therapy, or chronic disease management strongly preferred.\n
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (Athena or Epic preferred).\n\nRequired Skills and Abilities\n
