Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Transaction Attorney (Commercial Real Estate) on behalf of a rapidly growing national real estate investment firm. This is an exceptional direct-hire opportunity for a strategic, business-minded attorney to lead transactional legal matters across a diverse multistate portfolio.
About the Role :
The Transaction Attorney will oversee and execute legal components of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing. This role manages deals from LOI through closing and collaborates closely with acquisitions, asset management, property management, and finance teams to drive deal flow, mitigate risk, and optimize transactional outcomes. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer & SVP of Operations, this attorney will also develop and oversee a growing legal support bench.
What Youll Be Doing :
Lead and manage all aspects of commercial real estate transactions nationwide
Draft, review, and negotiate LOIs, PSAs, JV agreements, loan documents, leases, and closing packages
Oversee title and survey review, due diligence, and exception clearing to ensure smooth closings
Support capital-markets work by reviewing and negotiating financing structures and related agreements
Advise internal leasing and property-management teams on tenant issues, REAs, use restrictions, and renewals
Develop templates, playbooks, and policies to streamline transactional processes
Partner cross-functionally to identify risk, ensure compliance, and optimize deal outcomes
Remain current on legal, regulatory, and industry developments within commercial real estate
What You Bring :
J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. state with eligibility to waive into Illinois
5+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience within a real-estate investment firm, private equity environment, or law firm
Proven ability to independently structure, negotiate, and close acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
Strong title / survey review experience and familiarity with ALTA requirements
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills with sound business judgment
Experience with joint ventures, entity formation, or real-estate funds is a plus
Organized, responsive, and effective at managing multiple concurrent deals in a fast-paced setting
