  • Local Radius : 20–50 miles preferred.
  • Within 50 miles : Bill rate is $7.00 less than the posted regular, OT, and holiday rate.
  • Over 50 miles : Full (normal) rate applies.
  • Call pay : Same regardless of distance.

  • Trauma Level : Level II (Adult & Pediatric)

    • Stroke & STEMI receiving

  • Beds : 35
  • Trauma Bays : 2
  • Fast Track : Yes — 8 beds
  • Triage : Separate triage area using ESI algorithm; travelers may be assigned to triage.
  • Holding Area : Intermixed within ER
  • Psych / Seclusion Rooms : Yes — staffed by ER nurses
  • Security : In-house 24 / 7; stationed in the ER during peak hours

    • Patient & Staffing Information

  • Average Daily Census : ~111 patients / day
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 4
  • Charge Nurse : Team Lead on every shift (24 / 7 coverage)
  • Support Staff :

    • LPN (nights)

  • Techs & Paramedics (IVs, blood draws, EKGs, tech duties)
  • RT available (not housed in ER; responds to all codes)
  • Monitor Techs : None — nurses read tele strips
  • Phlebotomy : RN / Techs draw labs
  • X-Ray / CT : Located next door

    • Transport : 9a–9p by transport team; after 9p, nurses transport critical patients

    Certifications Required

    BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

    TNCC may be waived for experienced ER nurses with strong trauma background.

    Experience Requirements

  • Minimum : 1 year of recent ER experience (more preferred)
  • Pediatric experience : Preferred
  • First-time travelers : Accepted with >

    • 1 year total ER experience

    Common Diagnoses

  • Gunshot wounds (GSW), violent crime injuries
  • Stroke, STEMI, mental health emergencies
  • Pediatric respiratory illness, fractures
  • Trauma management (depending on experience)

    • Common Drips

  • All critical care drips used and managed by ER RNs

    • Providers & Team

  • Mix of MDs and Midlevels (NPs / PAs)

    • Peak times : 2 MDs + 3 Midlevels

    Scheduling & Shifts

  • Shift Lengths : 12 hours
  • Start Times : Multiple (5a–9a, 12p, 6p, etc.)
  • Scheduling : Set by manager; block scheduling accommodated when possible
  • Weekends : Every other
  • Holidays : Every other
  • Call : None
  • Floating : None

    • Orientation

  • Department Orientation : One 12-hour shift

    • Uniform

  • Scrub Color : Caribbean Blue
