Recreation Therapy Aide at MASONICARE summary : The Recreation Therapy Aide develops and implements recreational programs to engage residents socially, physically, and cognitively, often working with small groups or individual sessions. The role involves motivating participation, maintaining activity logs, planning outings, and adhering to health and safety precautions. Evening and weekend shifts may be required, and prior relevant experience along with a valid driver's license with endorsement is preferred. Recreation Therapy Aide Masonicare at Chester Village - Chester, CT Per Diem The Rec Therapy Aide will develop and implement a variety of recreation programs and services to residents that are socially, physically and cognitively stimulating Essential Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Create and implement activity plans for residents, in the way of small groups, special events and entertainment. Motivates residents for participation in either planned groups or on a one-to-one basis. Programs should be modified accordingly to meet the individual needs of residents. 2. Encourage resident participation and provide escort if necessary. Maintain participation logs for programs. 3. Attends meetings as required. Participate in educational programs and in-services as mandated. 4. Evening and weekend hours possible. 5. Plan and / or accompany residents on out trips. 6. Understands and follows universal precautions an MSDS books. 7. Review evaluation on new residents completed by Recreation & Activates Manager Minimum Qualifications : Education : High School or equivalent Experience : Prior relevant experience is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Public Service License (Drivers' License with F endorsement) Other : Pushing / pulling wheelchairs, climbing ladder (i.e. : decorating), using push carts for decorations or supplies, extensive standing / walking.
