About The Position

Job Title : RN Psych

Experience : Minimum of 2 years inpatient adult psychiatric experience

License : Active Massachusetts RN License

Certifications : AHA BLS, Certification in De-escalation

Must-Have :

Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing systems.

Proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC.

Proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and their side effects.

Able to assume the role of charge nurse.

Able to complete admissions and discharges.

Competent in the use of IV pumps.

Competent in the care of diabetic patients.

Knowledge of regulations and rights related to restraint and seclusion.

Knowledge of laws pertaining to guardianship and healthcare proxies.

Description :

This position is for an Adult Psychiatric Registered Nurse.

The role involves working in a 30-bed unit for adults aged 18-65.

Patients are treated for various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

The unit also accommodates dual diagnosis patients who detox while receiving mental health treatment.

Some patients may require medically acute care such as IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care.

The clinician to patient ratio is 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients.

Floating between units is required.

Rotating shifts are required for days, evenings, and nights.

Training in specific areas will be offered on-site.
