Job description

Job Overview

OB / GYN required for locum tenens coverage at a Level I NICU hospital located in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Position dates November – ongoing with a 24-hour inpatient shift structure. On-call duty for the entire shift is mandatory. Board certification is negotiable and the assignment type is contract.

Responsibilities and Scope

  • Provide 24-hour inpatient OB / GYN coverage with clinic clinic coverage from 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm.
  • Perform OB, emergency GYN cases and serve as first assist.
  • Manage an average hospital delivery load of 196 per year, with 1-4 deliveries and 5-8 patient visits per day.
  • Coordinate with MFM support staff on site and in-house anesthesia.

Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor with OB / GYN focus.
  • Board certification in OB / GYN preferred (negotiable).
  • Experience with 24-hour inpatient shifts and on-call coverage.
  • Strong procedural skill set in OB and emerg GYN.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
