Welcomes and greets patients, guests and external parties using standardized customer service tool (AIDET).
Assists medical professional staff by performing routine patient care – including but not limited to vitaling, screenings, documenting patient complaints; laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and point of care tests; and wound care; cleaning, preparing, maintaining, and stocking materials, supplies and equipment; patient education; and clerical and administrative procedures to support patient care delivery.
Monitors patient flow by assuring patients are promptly and effectively serviced.
Prepares exam rooms, ensuring they are clean, orderly and properly stocked with supplies.
Administers medication and / or immunizations under the direction of an RN and physician. Appropriately documents medication administered.
Under the direction of a provider or nurse, responds to patient communications. As ordered by a provider, contact pharmacies to request prescription refills.
Participates in health screenings, educational programs, and team meetings, as required.

Education and / or Experience :
REQUIRED
Successful completion (graduation) from a Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nursing or Emergency Medical Technician program
At least one (1) year of previous Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting
Current Basic Life Support / CPR certification
Excellent customer service and nonverbal active listening skills
DESIRED
Fluency in a language in addition to English
Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
