American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a MO or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications, and at least two years of ICU experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a short term acute care, Magnet designated, Level I Trauma, teaching hospitalPatient ratio is 1 : 2Patient population includes respiratory failure / ARDS, acute chest pain, stroke, cardiac arrest, DKA, multi-organ failure, sepsis, and pre / post-op cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeriesHandles medicine and neuro-medicine overflow as well as pre- and post-transplant casesSpecialized equipment includes IV pumps, CRRT / dialysis, ventilators / BiPAP, hemodynamic / invasive monitoring devices, and defibrillator / crash cartEPIC is used for charting and EPIC experience is requiredDay shifts are 3x12 hours from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30Required to work every other weekendNo on-call requiredFloating within ICU service line to other ICU units and potentially to affiliate hospitalsProvide critical care to complex and high-acuity ICU patients including neurology, medical, surgical, transplant, and post-operative casesExpected to cover care for patients requiring isolation precautions and the use of PPECentral role in the management of advanced procedures including CVP and pulmonary artery line monitoring, continuous IV sedation, and titration of dripsRequired to follow unit policies regarding infection prevention, phlebotomy, wound vacs, and blood product administrationNavy scrubs are requiredUp to 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignmentPermanent former employees must wait at least one year before returning as a travelerAll standard travelers can stay for up to 18 months before a 3-month break is requiredPre-start modules must be completed prior to the assignment start dateParking options available through the facility’s public safety office\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license requiredMinimum of two years ICU nursing experienceCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke ScaleStrong critical care skills including management of multisystem organ failure, dysrhythmia interpretation and treatment, advanced line management (arterial, central, PICC), ventilator and BiPAP management, ABG interpretation, emergency medication administration, and management of titratable cardiac and vasoactive dripsExperience with Epic EMR is requiredMust reside at least 75 miles from the facilityFirst-time travelers are not acceptedValid SSN and date of birth required for considerationMust complete fit testing and comply with infection prevention protocols\n Benefits\n
