Our client is a Commercial Bank in the Greater Boston area looking to bring onboard Credit Officers. There are multiple open positions at different levels of seniority. The role is hybrid, 3 days in their office outside of Boston.

The Credit Officer plays a critical role in managing credit risk and ensuring the quality of the loan portfolio, with great experience in the C& I space. This includes assessing borrowers' capacity to generate sustainable cash flows through comprehensive analyses of financial, managerial, and industry factors. Core responsibilities involve preparing written credit assessments, conducting due diligence, and reviewing financial statements to inform loan decisions and identify potential risks. Additionally, the Credit Officer supports other bank functions like risk management, regulatory compliance, and loan reviews while collaborating with lending officers to validate loan ratings and maintain credit quality. The position also requires mentoring junior analysts, preparing various credit-related reports, and identifying cross-sell opportunities for bank offerings. Strong qualifications for this role include formal credit training, familiarity with regulations, financial acumen, and project management skills.

• Formal credit training or equivalent experience in credit analysis.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial (C& I) lending practices.
• Proficiency in analyzing financial statements and identifying key risk factors.
• Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor less experienced team members and lead credit-related projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for preparing accurate credit reports.
• Ability to work on a hybrid schedule, including three days per week in the office.
