Senior Account Manager

Propel, an Alera Group Company (the 14th largest broker of US business), is seeking a highly specialized Senior Account Manager to lead strategic client relationships within the Senior Living vertical. This role is crucial for protecting and enhancing the financial vitality of our clients by managing complex exposures across Property & Casualty, Employee Benefits, Retirement, and Wealth Services.

Responsibilities

Serves as the primary client service contact for multiple accounts and is considered a highly experienced Senior Account Manager :

  • Manage a high-revenue, complex portfolio of Senior Living clients generating $600,000+ in annual revenue, owning the end-to-end strategic relationship and ensuring superior client retention.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing analytical insights and recommendations on comprehensive coverage structure, premium costs, and financing alternatives, including exploring captive program formation.
  • Conduct detailed loss run analysis, manage complex claims advocacy processes, and collaborate directly with underwriters to proactively improve client risk profiles and secure the most favorable renewal and new business coverage terms.
  • Works directly with insureds, producers, and vendors to facilitate renewals, new business opportunities, and to problem solve.
  • Negotiate robust and competitive policy terms, rates, and coverage with carriers / brokers, focusing on proactively identifying and resolving potential coverage gaps and deficiencies in existing programs.
  • Function as a Senior Subject Matter Expert and technical leader, formally mentoring and training junior staff on complex Senior Living technical issues, compliance processes, and high-level service standards.

Qualifications

  • Experienced professional : At least 3+ years as an Account Manager with a proven ability to manage and grow complex commercial accounts.
  • Relationship-driven : Builds and maintain strong partnerships with carrier partners, clients, and internal teams.
  • Technically skilled : Brings a deep understanding of property and casualty coverages, risk management principles, and market nuances.
  • Strategic thinker : Demonstrates sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver tailored solutions for diverse client needs.
  • Growth-oriented : Actively developing senior-level competencies in leadership, client advisory, and strategic account management.

    This role may be performed remotely.
