Job description

Mark Richey Woodworking is a Nationally Acclaimed Architectural Millwork Company and is one of the countrys greenest manufacturers. Our 130,000sf shop is run entirely by renewable energy. Our services include monumental custom work for corporate, institutional, retail, restaurant and residential clients.

Programming Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks including reading and programming from architectural blueprints.
  • Be proficient using AlphaCAM to program sheet and solid wood parts.
  • Be proficient in editing and creating AutoCAD drawings.
  • Be proficient in creating parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor.
  • Be proficient in processing projects using Microvellum.
  • Have a solid understanding of machining principles (cut direction, tooling limitations, etc.)
  • Have the capability to operate a 5-axis CNC router.
  • Be proficient in configuring the router for manufacturing.
  • Have a complete understanding of machine operations.
  • Have a complete understanding of production flow in the CNC work cell.
  • Be able to assist with maintenance and cleanup of routers.

General Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Follow instruction and learn CNC operation, architectural woodworking and cabinetry (all aspects).
  • Perform woodworking or other tasks as directed and instructed by the Shop Foreman, CNC Supervisor, or Job Captain.
  • Be proficient in casework construction and standard 32mm cabinetry.
  • Be proficient in the woodworking tasks such as, but not limited to, milling lumber, panel processing, ripping, crosscutting, sanding, all equipment / machinery functions (except shaper), case construction, laminating, solid woodwork, door construction, veneer work, gluing, and pressing.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition and perform general housekeeping duties (cleaning work areas, replacing items used, etc.)
  • Cut list projects as directed.
  • Read and work from blueprints accurately.
  • Ability to communicate and fill out detailed work orders as directed by the CNC supervisor.
  • Have an understanding of wood products and their characteristics and properties, as well as the use of materials.
  • Have good organizational skills.
  • Be able to multi-task and manage workload.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and be self-motivated, energetic, cooperative, and hard working.
  • Be punctual and maintain consistent attendance.
  • Work the posted required working hours.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Be safety conscious at all times.
  • Report any and all unsafe conditions and acts immediately to a supervisor or the Human Resource Manager.
  • Adhere to all Mark Richey Woodworking policies as outlined in the company handbook and safety manual.
  • Be proficient in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Be computer savvy with the ability to troubleshoot computer issues.
  • Modeling Prep (Rhino)

  • Check for abnormal / bad geometry using varying scripts and depending on the number / severity I make quick adjustments or send back to engineering.
  • Change the color of the beveled face of every part to indicate direction when re-oriented and to indicate type of machining.
  • Re-orient all parts organized by column section and level.
  • Run name / labeling script and engraving script to create DXF files.
  • Export parts as STEP files and engraving as DXF files organized by column section and level.
  • Create QC list of parts organized by column section and level.
  • Print all stickers for parts organized by column section and level.
  • Physical / Mental Requirements

  • Lifting, pushing, and / or moving heavy objects.
  • Walking, standing (on concrete floor for more than 8 hours per day), bending, stretching, reaching, sitting, and twisting.
