DJJ Operations Consultant
The Education Contract Manager is responsible for creating, managing and overseeing contracts and projects that support the Department's education initiatives. This position provides expertise in project management, education statute, and deliverable review to ensure contracted education providers and related partners deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with agency priorities, as established by the Deputy Secretary.
Key responsibilities include :
Additional duties include assisting the Deputy Secretary, Director of Education, and Director of Postsecondary and Workforce Education in the ongoing oversight of the Florida Scholars Academy and Florida Youth College education service provider's implementation and performance, serving as the official Clerk of the Florida Scholars Academy Board of Trustees, and acting as a liaison between the Board, the department, and Florida Scholars Academy education service provider.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include :
Knowledge of project and contract management principles and practices.
Knowledge of K12 and postsecondary education systems, instructional practices, and curriculum development.
Ability to review and evaluate educational deliverables for quality, alignment, and compliance.
Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data, develop recommendations, solve problems, and document processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Microsoft Project (or comparable project management software).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
Ability to anticipate future consequences and trends and create strategies and plans.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, active listening, and collaboration.
Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of tasks.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present effectively to groups and leadership.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make decisions.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Preferred qualifications include :
A bachelor's degree from a college or university in education, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
Three years of project or contract management experience, preferably within an educational context.
Experience reviewing and evaluating education plans and deliverables for content accuracy and alignment with standards.
The ability to travel.
