We are SEMRHI. We serve the healthcare needs of Rural Mississippi. We are a network of Community Health Centers that has been in Southeast Mississippi for more than 45 years. SEMRHI is looking to hire a Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) for work in our Hattiesburg Family Health Center.
At SEMRHI, the certified Provider is a primary health care professional who practices in clinical health care centers. They will provide nursing and medical services to individuals, families, and groups. The Provider will diagnose and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses as well as promotes health and disease prevention. Services include, but are not limited to ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescription of pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacologic therapies. Teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups are a part of the practice.
Job Responsibilities :

- Facilitate patient flow through the center
- Prioritizes delivery of care according to the individual needs of the patient
- Recognizes and accommodates patient's financial situation when ordering test or procedures
- Demonstrate an attitude with regard to patients as one of respect, honesty, caring and professionalism at all times
- Provide appropriate follow-up according to a patient's condition
- Recognize cultural differences in the delivery of patient care
- Demonstrate an ability to work as a member of the health care team
- Interact with appropriate personnel from the hospitals and other agencies in a professional manner
- Provide accurate and appropriate information to others when requested
- Participate in quality assurance process
- Adhere to the proper enforcement of CLIA and OSHA requirements
- Rotate to provide service at other clinics as needed
- Maintain licensure and certification as required by the job description
- Attend continuing education and in-service training meetings
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times when representing the organization
- Cooperatively with administration to facilitate practice regulations and policies
- Communicate with the clinic staff appropriately
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance
- Performs related work, as assigned
- Adhere to the internet, electronic mail and computer policies
- Completes the required IT / Security trainings prior to the deadline
Job Requirements :
Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program and licensed by the State of Mississippi with an approved protocol OR gr aduate of an accredited physician assistant program and licensed by the State of MississippiCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart AssociationProvider skills are maintained by attending continuing education meetings as required to maintain the appropriate licensure / credentialingTwo plus years of experience is preferredProvider skills are maintained by attending continuing education meetings as required to maintain licensureMaintain accurate clinical records, both written and electronic, in a timely mannerProvide primary health care services in accordance with accepted standards of care and approved protocolsExercise best clinical judgment in the provision of careConsult with appropriate provider in those areas of medical practice which requires special judgment, consultation or individual discretionReport any events or circumstances which hinders delivery of quality health careParticipates in community service activitiesPhysical and Other Requirements :
