Registered Nurse - Correctional - $75-80 per hour

Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Correctional Discipline : RN Duration : 52 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, evenings, nights Employment Type : Local Contract Title - Registered Nurse Location - Cape Vincent, NY 13618 Duration - 12 months Shift time - 2 : 00 pm-10 : 00 pm & 10 : 00 pm-6 : 00 am. Must have active NY Registered Nurse License Job description Responsibilities : Diagnose and treat patients’ health problems in accordance with medical standards. Perform comprehensive health assessments to identify new or undiagnosed conditions and complications. Administer prescribed medications safely and accurately. Provide restorative and palliative care to ill, disabled, and terminally ill patients. Educate and counsel patients on health maintenance, illness prevention, and treatment plans. Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team to plan and implement patient care. Serve as a consultant on healthcare committees and contribute to the development of care programs. Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, podiatrists, or dentists. Practice advanced nursing care for those with post-basic specialized education (e.g., clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists). Maintain a valid New York State RN license with at least one year of post-licensure experience. Work Environment : Facility : Correctional Facility (Medium Security). Setting : Secured correctional environment. Shifts : Miscellaneous; primarily evenings with some midnight coverage. Weekend requirement : Up to 2 weekends per month. Key skills : Strong assessment skills, EKG performance, and blood draws.
