Accountant I Department : Fiscal
Reports To : Fiscal Services Director
FLSA Classification : Non-Exempt
Location : In Office
Wage Range : 7 / 8 ($28.23-$31.28) Position Summary : Under general supervision of the Fiscal Services Director, the Accountant I performs varied clerical and administrative work related to keeping and processing documents involving fiscal operations and transactions. Duties can be assigned in Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Grants and Contracts, or General Accounting. This position requires multi-tasking and timely completion of tasks in coordination and collaboration with other team members. Position is located at the Intertribal Planning Center (IPC) in Shelton, WA.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Accountant I, as an employee of South Puget Intertribal Planning Agency, is expected to collaborate, engage, and work closely with all SPIPA programs to fully support the agency’s Vision, Mission and Core Values in accordance with all agency directives.
Qualifications :
Written communication skills to correspond with IPC staff, Intertribal partners and vendors.
Must be bondable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Physical Abilities / Essential Functions : Bending at the waist; sitting for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to read reports and data; lifting light to medium objects weighing up to 20-pound objects. Occasional travel to other SPIPA or Inter-Tribal locations.
Salary / Fringe Benefits : This position has a range of SPIPA 7 / 8 with compensation depending on qualifications (37.5 hours weekly). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and agency contribution to a retirement program.
