This role is instrumental in the design, simulation, analysis, and testing of mechanical components for state‑of‑the‑art electric vehicle powertrains. The role involves hands‑on involvement in the entire product lifecycle, from concept to New Product Introduction. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, enjoy the challenge of bringing theoretical designs to life, and be enthusiastic about contributing to innovative EV technology.

$140,000.00 / yr - $182,000.00 / yr
A Day in the Life :
- Lead all aspects of design, validation, and manufacturing for batteries for electric vehicles (aircraft, off‑road, marine).
- Evaluate new manufacturing technology and equipment to enable scaling and continuous improvement of in‑house battery production.
- Develop test plans and design validation methods for battery system failure modes.
- Perform trade off analysis and DOEs to optimize designs for performance and cost.
- Use SolidWorks CAD and PDM to manage and collaborate on part and assembly lifecycles.
- Simulate structural, thermal, and fluid models using SimScale, correlating results to physical testing.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary electrical, software, systems, and project management team to deliver high confidence products.
What You Bring :
5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.Demonstrated experience working with battery technologies used in multiple cell applications or in high voltage applications.A proven history of taking projects from concept through development, test, and certification into production.Experience with rapid‑prototyping development processes to create functional prototypes and jigs.Design experience using manufacturing methods such as CNC Machining, Injection Molding, Sheet Metal Bending, 3D Printing.Joining methods, such as ultrasonic welding, wire bonding, laser welding, TIG, MIG, IP67 Sealing methods.Experience evaluating and establishing relationships with CM's & Suppliers.Experience with preforming source inspections.Ability to review technical work and provide guidance and actionable feedback.Ability to clearly communicate technical issues in succinct language with non‑technical team members and stakeholders.BS or MS / MEng in Mechanical Engineering.What Makes You Stand Out :
