Job description

Air Reserve Technician

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), responsible for staff guidance, and management of operational and training programs for assigned units.

Responsibilities include :

  • Providing advocacy of enlisted aircrew activities of subordinate flying units to include unit aircrew flight currency and ground training programs.
  • Providing staff oversight over aircraft operations and resources.
  • Creating trend analysis / status reports for assigned specialty and flying units.
  • Providing coordination on aircrew waivers relating to special mission sorties.
  • Participating as an aircrew member / instructor / evaluator in assigned aircraft.

Requirements include :

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service
  • A security clearance may be required
  • If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations
  • This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
  • Position may be subject to random drug testing
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
  • Employee must maintain current certifications
  • Disclosure of Political Appointments
  • Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
  • Recruitment Incentive may be authorized for this position
  • Relocation Incentive may be authorized for this position
  • Leave accrual may be authorized upon request

  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • Qualifications include :

    In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions for the GS-0301 Series. Examples of specialized experience includes familiarity with aircraft servicing procedures, Air Traffic Control rules and regulations, flight planning requirements, flight planning systems and interpreting Notices to Airmen and other pertinent flight publications.
