About the Role
Join a rapidly growing security integration company as a Sales Estimator, where you'll play a critical role in managing our overflow of project opportunities. This is NOT a traditional sales position - you'll be stepping into an established book of business with existing clients who rely on us for their security infrastructure needs. We're seeking an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities
Estimation & Quoting
- Develop accurate, comprehensive quotes for enterprise-level security integration projects
- Calculate material requirements, licensing needs, and labor estimates for complex security systems
- Create detailed proposals for video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems
Site Assessment & Documentation
Conduct thorough site walks using professional measurement tools (distance wheels)Document site conditions through verbal notes and video recordings via Company CamAssess infrastructure requirements including cable pathways, closet layouts, and building conditionsIdentify special requirements such as firestop sleeves, ICRA compliance needs, and challenging construction elementsTechnical Expertise
Specify complete door hardware systems including readers, strikes / maglocks, REX devices, and resistorsDesign system architectures connecting field devices to head-end equipmentDetermine software licensing requirements for enterprise platformsEnsure compliance with healthcare, transportation, and commercial facility standardsClient Relationship Management
Attend client meetings to understand project scope and requirementsProvide technical consultation during the estimation processMaintain strong relationships with existing enterprise clientsRespond to quote requests with urgency and professionalismRequirements
Requirements
Essential Technical Knowledge
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience estimating security integration projectsProven expertise with enterprise security platforms including :Access Control Systems (Lenel, S2, Genetec Synergis)Video Management Systems (Genetec Omnicast, Milestone, Avigilon)Hardware platforms (Mercury boards, HID readers, Safetrust credentials)Intrusion / alarm systems (Bosch and similar)Deep understanding of complete door hardware requirements and system architectureExperience with healthcare, transportation, and large commercial facility requirementsCore Competencies
Advanced ability to work with quoting platforms & tools (We make this incredibly easy)Exceptional attention to detail in quantifying materials and laborStrong understanding of construction methods and their impact on installationAbility to identify and account for special installation challenges (concrete block walls, ICRA requirements, etc.)Self-motivated with a genuine sense of urgency in responding to opportunitiesPhysical Requirements
