Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The FP&A Superintendent provides strategic leadership across the mine, guiding the development and execution of budget and planning improvement initiatives, and operational excellence projects. In this role, you will develop and apply analytical tools to strengthen cost control, oversee budgeting processes, and lead planning cycles to support site-wide performance.
Demonstrate commitment to safety and Capstone’s Values in Action.Strategic Leadership : Lead transformation initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. Implement frameworks for consistent initiative management and portfolio governance. Partner with senior leadership to align projects with strategic priorities, resource capacity, and risk assessments, fostering a culture of operational excellence and accountability.Transformation Portfolio Management : Support teams in defining baselines, establishing KPIs, and delivering measurable performance improvements. Monitor project execution to ensure compliance with governance, budgets, and schedules. Conduct post-implementation reviews to validate benefits and embed continuous improvement.Stakeholder Engagement : Serve as the primary liaison between departments and senior leadership, providing data-driven updates on project status, risk, resources, and outcomes. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration using structured reporting and project management tools to ensure alignment and delivery.Planning & Analysis : Lead cost driver analysis, scenario modeling, and variance analysis to inform operational and capital planning. Enhance budgeting and forecasting frameworks using advanced analytics and financial systems (e.g., SAP, BI tools). Coordinate planning and budgeting cycles, challenge assumptions with data-driven insights, and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve performance.Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field (required).Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in business analysis, operational leadership, or a related field.Proven ability to manage change and guide teams through transformation initiatives.Preferred
Previous experience in the mining industry.CA / CPA qualification.All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check. All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty’. Additional training and / or testing may be required. Capstone maintains a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
