Our large, multi-location hospitality group client is looking for a Tax Audit Analyst to join its corporate tax team. This role supports state and local tax audits across sales, use, occupancy, excise, and other indirect tax areas. The ideal candidate has hands-on audit experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with both government auditors and internal business partners.
What you will do
- Manage a portfolio of thirty-five to forty active state and local tax audits
- Gather, organize, and present documentation in response to audit requests
- Maintain audit logs, monitor deadlines, and track progress
- Communicate with state, city, and county taxing authorities
- Work closely with hotel operations, accounting, and tax team members
- Perform basic research on state and local tax issues
- Support additional indirect tax functions as needed
What you need
Two to five years of tax audit, indirect tax, or accounting experienceDegree in Accounting or FinanceExperience as an auditor for a state, city, or county taxing authority is preferredAudit experience in occupancy tax or beverage tax is a plusStrong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple audits at onceProficiency with Excel and general computer savvyExperience with JD Edwards, SAP, or similar ERP systems is a plusWork environment
