Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute inpatient or rehab experience to join an inpatient rehab therapy team using Epic EMR.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute inpatient rehab therapy setting with some swing bed coverageDaily caseload typically includes 8 to 10 patients, managed by one therapist per dayPatient population includes ortho-total joints, neuro-strokes, occasional brain injuries, medical, and general ICUExpectation to float to a nearby medical center when census is lowEPIC charting system is usedDay shift, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts from 08 : 30 to 17 : 00May need to work holidays as requiredMain responsibilities include providing therapeutic services to patients with a focus on rehabilitation and recoveryMust be prepared to float to another facility if needed based on censusScrubs are permitted but must not match the color of other departments; a list of approved colors will be provided upon hireTeam is supported by a manager, no COTAs or Rehab Aides on staffFirst-time travelers are welcome for considerationOrientation typically lasts 2-3 days in the department and is structured during regular weekday hoursRequirements
Current Occupational Therapist license required if applicableMinimum 1 year of OT experience, specifically in acute inpatient or rehab settingsCurrent BLS certification requiredComfortable working independently with daily patient caseloadCompliance with a 50-mile radius rule from the facility based on permanent addressBenefits
