Senior Project Manager - Water / Wastewater

Garver is seeking an experienced water industry professional as a Senior Project Manager for our developing Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area portfolio. With the full support of a century-old engineering consulting firm that is rapidly growing in the water market, the successful candidate will help develop and lead business planning, pursue diverse and custom water and wastewater projects, build and maintain outstanding client relationships, be active in industry activities and events, and learn and mentor as part of a growing full services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hands-on management of exciting water industry projects through all phases of delivery. Specifically, responsibilities will include a variety of projects related to :
- Water infrastructure planning, design, implementation, and optimization
- Water distribution, pumping, and storage
- Sewer collection, pumping, and storage
- Water resources planning and development
- Conveyance, pumping, and storage
- Surface water supply
- Groundwater supply
- Challenged and / or reuse supply
- Water facilities planning, design, implementation, and optimization
- Drinking water treatment plants
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Advanced water treatment plants
Responsibilities will vary in relative volume, and change over time, but will generally include :
Business planning and development activitiesClient service managementPursuit planningSupport proposal development effortsScope, fee, and contract development servicesProgram Owner's Advisor (OA) servicesOversee production of deliverables, including :Complete detailed design calculations, drawings, and specificationsScheduling, management and coordination of support disciplines and subconsultantsFacilitate stakeholder engagement activitiesSupport permitting approval with regulatory agenciesManage quality assurance and risk managementFacilitate workshops with clientsTransition to construction phase (both alternative delivery and design-bid-build)Contractor pre-qualification and bid evaluationParticipate in facilitated teaming activitiesTechnical review of submittals and RFIsConstruction phase engineering supportScheduling, management and coordination of support disciplines and subconsultantsProgress tracking and communicationsTransition to integration phaseManage owner training programEquipment, instrument, and device checkout and performance validationControl system and HMI integrationScheduling, management and coordination of support disciplines and subconsultantsContract closeoutTravel will be required on an as-needed basis for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties to maintain your designated service area. Qualified candidates must be capable of performing the following routine functions :
Display technical competency of water or wastewater engineeringDevelop and manage detailed project delivery assumption, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimatesManage and delegate scope, budget, and schedule for a team of multi-disciplined (civil, process, structural, mechanical, electrical, and I&C) project engineers, design engineers, and CAD Technicians in the development of various Water Business Line projectsManage and delegate multiple projects concurrentlyBe responsible for time management and work product qualityKeep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projectsConduct written and oral project reporting for clients and Team Leader. Reporting will include project design status, upcoming milestones, project accounting and billing, percent completes, progress reports, etc.Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control PlansLead internal and external project workshopsBe an active learner responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the teamConstruction management, excluding construction observation, for local projectsTeambuilding Skills

10 or more years of similar technical experience with no less than three years' experience in project / team leadershipRegistered as a Professional Engineer (PE) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or the ability to obtain within a yearPrevious experience in responsible charge of planning, design, and implementation of water facilities and infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of the multi-disciplined practices (i.e. process, surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control) required for the planning, design, and implementation of water facilities and infrastructure projectsStrong communication skillsProficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and OutlookPreferred
Master's degree in Civil or Environmental EngineeringENV SP Certification or ability and willingness to obtain.Grow With Us
