Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Business Development to lead our commercial efforts. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a cohesive sales and marketing strategy that drives revenue growth, expands market share, and enhances our brand visibility within high-tech markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical B2B sales, preferably within precision motion systems or related technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement global sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team, including inside sales, field sales, and channel partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets.
  • Cultivate and manage key customer relationships, including OEMs, end users, and system integrators.

Marketing & Brand Development

  • Oversee the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns (digital, trade shows, content, product launches).
  • Refine the company’s positioning and messaging to clearly communicate our technical capabilities and value proposition.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to align marketing efforts with product development.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity to guide strategic decisions.
  • Establish and report on KPIs, sales forecasts, and marketing ROI to executive leadership.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technical B2B sales and marketing, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success in driving growth within high-precision motion control, automation, or related technology fields.
  • Strong understanding of technical sales cycles, OEM integration, and global industrial markets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-precision motion stages, servo technology, and / or nanometer-level positioning.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), ERP systems, and marketing automation tools.
  • Technical credibility with engineers; ability to translate complex specifications into customer value.
