Responsibilities

  • Primary duties and responsibilities include the management of scope development, contract support, and procurement of parts, develop schedule, equipment history review, and shutdown backlog lists for the inclusion into the outage work.
  • Manage the outage planning process and follow the milestones of the process to ensure the Overhaul / outage is complete and developed on time.
  • Manage the execution of the overhaul / outage schedule and ensure adequate resources are available to complete the outage on time.
  • Ensure that all overhaul / outage employees and contractors comply with established safety and health programs in support of an incident and injury free workplace. Guides programs and plans to improve employee health and safety to support a zero accident / incident rate goal.
  • Ensure the safe, reliable, and cost effective routing and outage maintenance services of assigned Generation resources.
  • Clearly define and maintain Power Generation Maintenance Work Management principles and quality standards providing required technical support, inspection services, and reporting during performance of unit overhauls.
  • Oversee Planning and Scheduling to maintain maintenance philosophy alignment and focus on condition of critical assets and materials, including shutdown examinations, and detailed evaluations.
  • Plan, budget, coordinate, and implement the long-term maintenance overhaul schedule in conjunction with plant management (including coordination of capital projects installed during overhaul) for Power Generation assets to achieve reliability metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and labor relations agreements.
  • Identify overhaul related risks (Safety, Environmental, Plant Operation, and Equipment) and develop mitigation plans.
  • Oversee performance and budget controls and reporting.
  • Develop, manage and continuously improve the Power Generation fleet contract services program for maintenance services.
  • Oversee development of contract services specifications, contractual agreements and directs project management activities related to Plant overhaul / outage planning and execution.
  • Manage program for regulatory compliance with laws and codes related to plant asset maintenance, such as boiler code and high-pressure valves, turbine valve inspections.
  • Oversee tests that analyze design, feasibility, operation, equipment condition and performance of the facility post overhaul.
  • Confers with Plant Director, Management, and Plant Personnel to develop mitigation plans, design modifications and changes in maintenance practices and / or new system implementation to prevent repetitive failures and / or improve plant performance.
  • Confers with other Engineers and personnel to resolve malfunctions, review system performance, oversee repairs and improvements and review operating characteristics of plant systems during post overhaul startup.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance, operations, and / or O&M / Capital project management.
  • Demonstrate skills in job planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of all Power Generation safety procedures including proficiency in LOTO program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of SAP core modules.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Power Generation Overhaul Planning and Scheduling Process.
  • Familiar with Power Generation Budgeting process.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or experience in Power Generation Operations / Maintenance of power plant facilities.
  • Certifications & Working Environment

  • Working Environment : Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Employee may potentially be exposed to hazardous chemicals, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather, noisy and dusty environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. After hours work may be required.
