Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role is for an experienced pharmacist to lead and manage outpatient pharmacy operations in a contract position based in San Carlos, AZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital pharmacy practice, management experience as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), and a commitment to patient-focused care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct and supervise daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Manage operational and financial metrics, integrating improvements into pharmacy services.
- Lead and develop pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high performance.
- Oversee dispensing systems for accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle purchasing and inventory to maintain cost-effective pharmaceutical availability.
- Identify and provide staff training needs and participate in quality assurance programs.
- Stay current with industry standards through ongoing education.
- Counsel patients effectively and process prescriptions, including controlled substances, in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Desired Experience :
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution; PharmD and PGY1 residency preferred.Minimum of five years of professional pharmacy experience, including at least two years in a hospital setting.Minimum two years in management or lead pharmacist positions.Current, unrestricted pharmacist license (Arizona license preferred).BLS certification within 30 days of hire.Licensed or eligible to administer immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications preferred.Strong leadership skills with flexibility to adapt and collaborate with the pharmacy team.Ability to maintain current medication knowledge and comply with relevant regulations.Schedule :
